In Louisville, usually, you need to book your apartments in advance.  If you know that you are certainly moving in November, I suggest you to start shopping right away, possibly visit Louisville couple of times, may be on weekends...  

The following apartment communities have heavy Desi population:
1. Hurstborn Grand, 2. Plainview, 3. Meadows.  

Oldham county has great schools, however, in Oldham county you will not have lot of Desis.  If you are ok to live in non-desi environment, consider following cities:
1. Crestwood, 2. Prospect.

meadows apartment community on taylorsville rd is good place with lots of desi community. other apartment community with good desi population is hourstbourne apartments on shelbyville rd. good preschools nearby are: st paul's episcopal church preschool and presbetarian church preschool. hope this helps. just explore everything nearby taylorsville rd. and s.hourstbourne pkwy. there is patel indian grocery store and general stores like walmart and target also...
